Flowers Forever
This coming spring, Kunsthal Rotterdam presents the exhibition Flowers Forever. With more than two hundred objects from the fields of art, design, fashion, and science, the exhibition offers—for the first time in the Netherlands—a comprehensive cultural-historical overview of the flower.
Flowers Forever shows how flowers evolved from mythical and religious icons into status symbols, commodities, and vital links in our global ecosystem. In seven chapters, the exhibition explores how flowers have become embedded in our culture as vehicles for rituals, emotions, and ideas, offering visitors surprising insights into the role of flowers in our society.
For us at Plants & Flowers Foundation Holland (PFFH), this exhibition perfectly highlights what we are committed to every day: making the unique value of flowers visible. Not just as a product, but as carriers of emotion, meaning, and connection. In addition, the exhibition aligns seamlessly with our mission to raise awareness among a broad audience of the positive wellbeing effects of flowers.
“Flowers have an exceptional power: they touch people, enhance our wellbeing, and connect us with one another. This exhibition showcases that in a beautiful and inspiring way. We are proud to share this story together with Kunsthal Rotterdam,” said Mariska Werring, Managing Director ad interim of PFFH.
