How do consumers perceive biodiversity in relation to flowers and plants?

What do consumers know about biodiversity, and what role do they see for the sector? By the end of 2024, insights were gathered through a study involving more than 1,800 consumers in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. The results offer valuable perspectives.

Biodiversity: an abstract concept

For many people, biodiversity is not a familiar or straightforward topic. Awareness, attitudes, and expectations vary significantly by country and product category. Notably, consumers are generally willing to contribute to greater biodiversity – but they do expect guidance and inspiration from the sector.
