Plants & Flowers Foundation Holland presents research results during IPM Essen

From 28-31 January, the IPM Essen will once again show why it is considered the world’s leading trade fair for horticulture, where professionals from around the world present their innovative products and services in the green sector. As usual, Plants & Flowers Foundation Holland will have its own stand, offering visitors information, research results, live presentations and, of course, a cup of great-tasting coffee! And the perfect opportunity to gain valuable insights and network with sector peers.

Research and data are essential for the consumer and other activities carried out by the plants and flowers foundation. This is why we not only compile the results of existing studies, but also actively conduct our own research. Three inspiring presentations can be heard during the IPM:

Preview: Horticulture Trends 2026


28, 29 and 30 January | 11 am - 11:30 am
Which style trends and values will define the demand for flowers and plants in the year ahead? Monique Kemperman, PR and Events Lead, takes a look ahead at the Horticulture Trends 2026. This presentation is a preview of the large trend presentation on 18 March (in Dutch).

Sneak Peek: Shopper research

28, 29 and 30 January | 1 pm – 1:15 pm
How do consumers in the Netherlands, France, United Kingdom and Germany perceive flowers and plants? What drives their buying behaviour? Rob Tas, Manager of National and International Relations at Plants & Flowers Foundation Holland, will be sharing a sneak peek of the highlights of a large-scale study from 2024 that used surveys, eye-tracking technology and shop interviews to collect interesting insights that can benefit traders and other professionals. The results will be presented on 4 March during a live event (in Dutch). 

Well-being effects of cut flowers


28, 29 and 30 January | 3 pm - 3:30 pm
Flowers are often associated with positive emotions. But what is their actual impact on well-being? Anne van der Wal, Sustainability & Sector Communication Manager at Plants & Flowers Foundation Holland, will be sharing the results of an extensive study carried out in partnership with research firm CloudArmy.

Live from the stand: Hortibiz Newsradio

Following a successful partnership during the Trade Fair Aalsmeer, Hortibiz Newsradio will once again be broadcasting live from the event. Interviews will be streamed directly from the plants and flowers foundation stand and cover relevant themes and sector collaboration.

Plants & Flowers Foundation Holland's stand is more than just a source of information. It is a meeting place where professionals can get answers to their questions, strengthen their relationships and explore new potential partnerships. Under the motto ‘Together for a strong horticulture’, visitors and their business partners are very welcome to visit the stand!
