What do houseplants do for how we experience a space? With Unravel Neuromarketing Research, we're investigating the associations consumers - often unconsciously - have with houseplants, and how the presence of plants affects the way a space feels.

About the research

Many people feel that houseplants add something positive to their living environment. But what exactly is behind that feeling?

In this research, we first map out which associations consumers spontaneously link to houseplants, and how strong these are. We then compare identical spaces with and without houseplants, to see which associations are strengthened or weakened by the presence of plants - think of calm, cosiness, nature, concentration, comfort, vitality, or, conversely, stress and clutter.

We also look at whether these patterns differ between countries. In this knowledge session, we share the key findings from the research and show what role houseplants play in how people experience their living environment.
